The talented team of Penny and Swan McBride creates stained glass. glass plates and bowls, and fabulous jewelry. The hot glass artists from Oelwein cannot produce their works fast enough.
Penny began doing stained-glass art as a hobby, and Swan soon followed using the "lamp-working" technique. Lamp-working uses a small blowtorch-like device to heat the glass to mold. To make a bead he takes a long, slender rod of a pliable soft glass and molds it around another slender metal rod. He then decorates it with other rods of glass. |
